I suppose it's a little early for Halloween!art... but that just means I can do more later >D

Sooo, this is Yuki Cross and Zero Kiryu from Vampire Knight. I'm actually not as into VK as MeruPuri... I loved MeruPuri to death. <3 I'm not sure how I feel about Matsuri Hino in general, though. I like the characters in VK a lot (Aido, Shiki...<3). And I actually think I like the Kaname/Yuki pairing better than Yuki/Zero, now... *used to be a Zero supporter* Zero's been really annoying lately, though... and Zero seemed to fit my purpose better, here... but he came out so angry. I meant for him to just be skeptical/amused... maybe it's my subconscious trying to tell Zero he needs to lighten up...... Anyway, I really wanted to do something for shojobeat, so... this is the result, however crappeh.

Mehh, I simply can't seem to get the hang of scanning/photoshop-coloring. I mean, I did this mostly traditionally--some copics, some colored pencils, I think I even added some charcoal in there for texture. When I scan it, though... Either that, or when I do my overlay layer, to try and brighten it--my stuff tends to be really faint... Anyway, when I do that, it gets so faded T_T; and it always comes out really bad. And then I overcompensate.

It's a vicious cycle.

I photocopied the lineart, 'cause I wanted to keep the original separate. I also figured the lines would work for a halloween-ish theme when they weren't all thin and light... You can see how much I had to struggle to get it dark. v_v; (this is the result of lots of Color Burns and Multiplies. >>;; )

Yuki is dressing up as a vampire, btw, in case it's hard to tell (the fake teeth came out... less than good). Zero... I don't even /know/ what he's supposed to be. I think I was originally going with a mummy, but then I didn't want to cover his expression... and I wanted to give them little matching costumes, because I'm evil that way, and they have to match even when they're /not/ in school. Besides, Zero wouldn't look right without a trenchcoat...

Anyway, hopefully my next uploaded piece will be oodles better, but I haven't uploaded anything in ages, so... I figured I may as well, even though it's rather sucky. Sorry this was just a rant-fest. I've been kinda bipolar lately, and I think this is another down-swing. v_v;
